A set of film production equipment

There’re tons of equipment tools required, depending on what film type you’re making. Most filmmakers will tell you that gathering their equipment together is almost as exciting as because of the filmmaking itself.

This article talks about the essential checklist for an excellent filming experience.

Video camera

Choosing a camera for your project will depend on your budget, and also on the subject. Who is your target audience? Are you getting to show the film on social media, large screen, or is it for a function to be projected on a small device or TV? Do you need any stealth or static camera shots?

There are many sorts of makes and models of video cameras to settle on. Here are some camera choices:

Cinematic cameras — Used for high-end movie productions and filming of Broadway productions.

Camcorders — Basic cameras which are used for web videos, special day videos, basic home video movies, etc.

HD 4K — Commonly used for film production or high-end documentaries.

Lenses

There are numerous differing types of shots, angles, and filters that you need when shooting a movie. It is advisable to start building up a basic set of lenses and filters for your camera. Begin by getting the fundamentals and, as you grow, you should get those that give your shots a touch of extra quality.

If you would like to extend the dimensions of a small ladybug sitting on a sunflower, you need a lens that does an excellent zoom. They are called macro lenses.

Lighting

You cannot do without lighting regardless of what time of day it is. There is always something that is a bit shadowed and wishes that tiny ray of sunshine. Most studio-type shots are shot often with an entire lighting set. Good camera light is all you would need for that documentary to be light up to the required standard.

Tripod

If you are shooting a movie for a family wedding, anniversary, or birthday celebration, you need your film to have a steady stabilization. You do not want it shaking and moving everywhere in the place. A tripod fulfills all the stabilization needs.

Once the camera is positioned and steady it is easy to lift the tripod and reposition it. This setting takes away the shake of a video and provides you more flow to zoom around the room.

There are many various styles, sizes of tripods make sure that your camera is compatible with it. Some tripods fit not only the professional video cameras but also smart devices and camcorders.

Microphone

A professional microphone makes a world of difference to the audio quality of the video. Most microphone types fit all makes and models. Make sure the connecting jack fits the device you are using. Most have an inventory with compatible cameras. There are also boom poles that you can get to connect to a microphone for an extended range. If you are getting a boom pole, then you will also want to think about a shock mount to make your microphone steady. It also stops that noisy movement sound when repositioned the mic or the sound of bumping if it is not steadily attached.

Light reflector

A light reflector is one of the most convenient devices you should be getting to have together with your camera. It is what makes a dull shot clear and bright or turn a beginner looking shot into the one that was done by a professional.

Computer with video editing software

Laptops are adequate for fieldwork and quick checks. A traditional desktop PC is great too.

However, if you like all the high-end graphics and editing capabilities you need either Mac or one among the highest line desktops. It should contain a strong graphics card which will deal with the video editing you need for work. Moreover, it’ll need enough processing power, space for storing both internally and externally, enough memory on the pc to deal with the graphics software.
